ESCP Europe has become the latest French business school to look to the university system for its next dean. History professor Edouard Husson, who for the past two years has been the Vice-Chancellor of the Universities of Paris, has been appointed dean of ESCP from September 1. ESCP, like HEC Paris, comes under the auspices of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Paris.
Prof Husson, who was previously advisor to the French Minister of Higher Education and Research, succeeds Pascal Morand, who has been dean of the school since 2006. Prof Morand will return to his roots as an economics professor, and become director of the Institute for Innovation and Competitiveness, a think-tank launched by ESCP in 2011. There he will focus on innovation and reindustrialisation in Europe.
