London Business School, the UK’s leading business school - is to have a new dean. Robin Buchanan, who became head of the school barely 16 months ago, will, on January 1st, move into a new role as president of the school.
The new dean, who will also take up the new position at the beginning of January, will be Professor Sir Andrew Likierman, who is currently professor of management practice in accounting at the school. Sir Andrew, 64, will be the school’s fifth dean in the past 11 years.
In his new position as president - a role created on his recommendation - Mr Buchanan will focus on external relations, assuming an ambassadorial role for the school. His new remit will also include fundraising - LBS currently has an endowment of £12m. In comparison, Harvard Business School in the US has an endowment of $2.07bn...
