Accountability of research

Eiasm The latest publication of the EIASM  (European Insitute for Advanced Studies in Management) is entitled "Accountablity of Research, Who's accountable? To whom? Are we counting the right stuff?" (PDF)

The publication was funded with the support of the European Commission.

It is a series of articles including, (in order of appearance):


Eli Lilly Professor, INSEAD;  "An introduction to the issue"

Karin Knorr Cetina, University of Constance; "Knowledge Cultures and Accountability"

Chris Chapman, Said Business School, Oxford University, "Joining Accountability and Autonomy in Research"

Peter Johnston, DG-Information Society; European Commission; "New ways to evaluate research effects on innovation and growth in Europe"

Luke Georghiou, Manchester Business School, "Accountability and the Logic of Intervention"

and many others.


MISSION STATEMENT of the EIASM

The general mission of the Institute is to contribute to the development of management researchers and teachers in Europe.
The Institute fosters a research approach that brings relevant theory and techniques from different disciplines to bear on practical management problems in European organizations and encourages a high degree of openness toward cross-cultural and international communication.
This general mission leads to the formulation of the following objectives :

-To contribute to the development of and to sustain a network of management researchers and teachers in Europe
-To organize conferences, seminars and workshops on research in disciplines relevant to management
-To encourage and facilitate the initiative and coordination of joint research
-To enhance the development and the quality of European doctoral student education
